Regional Director of Community Associations
Job Description
As the Regional Director of Community Associations working for Taylor Morrison we are seeking a highly respected and tenured Community Association Management professional that is a true leader in the management of common interest communities and the professionals that serve them. This individual will have significant expertise in working with developers of new communities, Active Adult/55+ associations, condominium and Homeowner Association (HOA) Boards and committees, turnover of common areas, transitions from developer control, and every facet of the operations of Homeowner Associations. As an expert in this space, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to several business operating units within assigned specified region. Included is oversight and engagement to perform analysis of HOA operations and improvements, develop operating models, strategic and tactical recommendations, implementation roadmaps, playbooks and training, incorporating industry intelligence and best practices. You will identify and communicate technical and strategic matters to division and corporate personnel. You will have a passion to be disruptive in the HOA space in a positive way that influences and meets the customer where they are at through leaving a legacy community that builds brand loyalty to Taylor Morrison through engaging and vibrant community association experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategy and implementation for divisions to comply with internal HOA policies and procedures affecting change that brings consistency and standardization nationally
- Analysis of current HOA business and market operations workflow and ability to map out a course of action to improve
- Change agent through leadership that thinks differently about how to approach residents in an Association transcending old traditional models but rather creative new ideas which will enhance the residents experience.
- Responsible to facilitate national HOA council engaging key HOA leaders across the divisions in various markets
- Understanding of HOA technology and software systems so that you can provide a road map in collaboration with key partners for implementation of an enhanced suite of software solutions for streamlining documentation and reporting
- Responsible for Property Management company analysis and performance. Work with the divisions for RFP process to get the right business partner to run the HOA’s
- Lead creative solutions for simplification and standardization of documents, national contracts, and any other initiatives which would save both time, money and resources and improve the operational flow of the business.
- Responsible for leading strategic initiatives which return an ROI for HOA’s in terms of leveraging scale and relationships with national partnerships and optimization of the business. You will establish financial goals to achieve reduction in legal exposure and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with divisions and TM legal team in support of HOA initiative, standardization and streamlining of policy and procedures.
- Oversight of the implementation for document retention to track documents depository filings and maintain an organized and up-to-date system.
- Work very closely with internal legal team and risk management in conjunction of identifying current issues and support of expediting resolutions through policy change, adhuerence to procedures, etc.
- Establish operational brand standards and playbook for Taylor Morrison’s "love the customer" all things pertaining to HOA
- Collaborate, liaise, support and work with outside counsel on Community Association Management matters to include support of the divisions for resident resolutions
- Lead the strategy for communication roadmap for HOA’s creating templates and collection of best practices
- Create and lead best in class training, onboarding and awareness of all matters pertaining to HOA
- Support the national VP to document project objectives, desired outcomes. Communicate with divisions to set expectations, timelines and project scope for streamlining the process and procedures of our HOA’s.
- Keep abreast of trends, laws and legal aspects of community association management through professional associations and seminars
- Manage interdepartmental coordination to ensure smooth execution of TM HOA policies
- Perform basic administrative review of vendor contracts, projects, policy and process and procedures assessments execution for proposed enhancements.
- Lead dynamic reporting that gives the organization visibility into performance metrics and financial ROI
- Responsible for tracking and updating Association status reporting across the organization in various levels
- Expert guide for the divisions of the transitions of the BOD and the turnover of common areas
- Ability to engage with residents and member HOA boards as well as sit on select HOA Boards to represent the developers interests. Attend Board of Directors meetings as needed, club and committee meetings as required.
- Attend and provide feedback in community Financial Review Meetings and provide oversight to HOA budgets for the local divisions
- Develop an annual planning and programming calendar (playbook) outlining national programming
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Demonstrated strategy and expertise in Transitions from developer control with successful track record of full releases
- Associate’s degree in legal studies or paralegal background with experience in community association management
- Preferred License from CAI
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and documentation
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with team members
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of legal concepts related to property ownership
- General understanding of the budgeting process and financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
- Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills

- Efficient and a Quick learner
- Homebuilding and/or real estate industry knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of commercial insurance and risk management preferred including HOA, condo association and multi-family
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
This position is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be required to keep a time record and will be eligible for overtime pay.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
- The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
