Job Description

As a Resource Planning Manager working for Taylor Morrison, you will provide leadership in navigating divisional building challenges. The Resource Planning Manager will be responsible for coordinating effective use of material and labor resources by community teams to set and meet annual and quarterly construction goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Direct geographical and functional scheduling of limited trade resources
  • Monitor achievement and continued viability of divisional goals based on resource and labor challenges
  • Devise methods for Taylor Morrison to obtain and maintain preferred builder status amongst suppliers and trade partners
  • Develop and implement plans for cadenced completion of constrained tasks
  • Provide regular projections on deliverables for divisional agility
  • Pinpoint trade and internal inefficiencies, develop strategies to improve efficiency
  • Confer and brainstorm with community teams and trade partners to resolve problems affecting capacity and schedules
  • Select and manage community team leads for field feedback and implementation of coordinated activities
  • Locate and monitor excess or substitute labor and material resources for use by community teams
  • Set goals and objectives for community teams to bust resource pressure points and maximize productivity
  • Work with back-office staff to minimize unforeseen impacts to productive output and field efficiency
  • Create areas of focus around trending resource bottlenecks
  • Identify and promote availability of key vendor motivators 
  • Provide strategic input as a liaison to top management

    Sound Like You?

    • You have at a minimum: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of Construction experience
    • Deep understanding of production homebuilding construction processes
    • Must be able to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules, with knowledge of all phases of new homes construction
    • Negotiation and relationship building skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient computer skills.
    • You are a strong in communication skills both oral and written as well as strong in organization skills
    • You are willing to perform other duties as assigned

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Will have responsibilities such as:

    • Interviewing, selecting, and training employees
    • Setting rates of pay and hours of work
    • Appraising productivity; handling employee grievances or complaints, or disciplining employees
    • Determining work techniques
    • Planning the work
    • Apportioning work among employees
    • Determining the types of equipment to be used in performing work, or materials needed
    • Planning budgets for work
    • Monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance
    • Providing for safety and security of the workplace

    • Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to schedule

    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle if applicable

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
    • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
